No-exam life insurance

Which applicants get accelerated underwriting, what the process looks like, and your options if you don't qualify.

Many insurers now offer fast-track underwriting: within specific age and benefit limits, carriers make decisions using your application, pharmacy records, DMV reports and other records instead of ordering an exam. Some approvals happen the same business day. Every quote here indicates whether the product requires an exam, may require one, or doesn't.

What it changes

No-exam programs don't mean no underwriting review. Your answers get verified; a policy issued on false information can be challenged for two years. The carrier can still order an exam or labs if your data raises flags; that's when you decide whether to go forward.

Who tends to qualify

Generally, this means individuals under approximately 60, applying for coverage within the carrier's no-exam limits, with no significant health conditions, and a tobacco-free history for a minimum period. Some carriers will substitute recent blood work from your doctor for their exam.

Should an exam be required, expect a 20 to 30-minute appointment at your home or workplace in the Arcadia area, at no expense to you. For applicants in good health, exam outcomes frequently improve your rate classification, so an exam may actually benefit you.
